RHYS CHATHAM “Prelude” (Table of Elements, 1989)
Avant-guardist composer Rhys Chatham created in 1989 a musical piece for 100 electric guitars, electric bass and drums. He just organised his work like a classic orchestra director, separating the 100 guitars in 10 or 12 distinct groups playing only one note at once. The result is brilliant. It’s like hearing a classical chords orchestra but with electric guitars.
